Not to-do list

In the pursuit of a goal, it can be just as important as maintaining a “to-do list” is a “not-to-do list”.

As in, if you are trying to find an extra hour to learn a craft, create your work, or launch a venture, then do not:

  • Watch TV
  • Go on Instagram
  • Check Facebook

The same would apply to dieting towards the goal of weight loss. Do not:

  • Eat anything that didn’t grow from the ground
  • Is sealed in a container or packaging to “keep fresh”
  • Have seconds
  • Drink your calories
  • Order anything that’s fried

When we say yes to something, we say no to another. Saying yes to TV means no to focused study. Saying yes to seconds and dessert means saying no to limits.

But we forget the power of saying no. Saying no to social media means saying yes to making art that means something to you. Saying no to fried chicken with a double side of oily carbs means yes to a more alert and energetic afternoon.

What have you said yes to that has led to results that, no, you didn’t want?
